Supporting the SEO and Digital Marketing Team, the Taxonomy & Search Specialist supports search and browse optimization efforts so that customers can efficiently locate products on all Guitar Center web properties.

Job Title: Taxonomy Specialist

Taxonomy is the backbone of our digital experiences. Without proper attention, iteration, collaboration and ongoing maintenance, our search, browse and overall findability is not possible. Changes in inventory, market and competitive surveillance and responses to member feedback impact the digital taxonomy. We need the ability to respond to the ever changing market conditions to make Guitar Center's products easily findable for our members. Taxonomy is the basis for all of this work.

The ideal candidate will have taxonomy experience and appreciate general best practices. Initially this position will focus on taxonomy maintenance however the expectation is that this individual will be capable of adding work in strategy-oriented activities.'

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

* Categorize products into facets structures to enhance product information and improve the online shopping experience.
* Engage in taxonomy and keyword research to support search and browse optimization


* Support guided navigation and browse experience on all Guitar Center web properties

including but not limited updating navigation menus, optimizing type ahead, and building

category enhancement pages.

* Support site search on all Guitar Center web properties to continually improve product

findability online.

* Perform category and attribute audits as needed to proactively discover problems and helpimplement solutions.
* Support search and browse reporting requirements including assisting with data analysis.

To join our band you will need the following experience:

* Bachelor's Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Library and

Information Science or related field.

* 2 years of relevant work experience (in addition to degree or years of previous experience),preferably with experience in library science, information architecture, product information management, or a related technical discipline

* Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel
