Job Description: 


This position is for an RF Engineer in the Product Support Engineering group.  The candidate will work with cross-functional teams to meet manufacturability, testability and other DFx requirements for volume production and is responsible for the following:

  • Supporting existing military communication products and system designs in manufacturing.
  • Identify impact of unforeseen problems and elevate significant problems to appropriate management personnel.
  • Determine radio and process improvements to increase test yields and product quality.
  • Troubleshoot radios and systems to component level and perform design changes to improve performance.
  • Lead a technical design and/or troubleshoot team.
  • Leading a development effort, including: Working closely with design teams to introduce new radio designs into the factory, including but not limited to:
  • Generate estimates, schedules, and providing monthly and quarterly budget updates.
  • Prepare status presentations of complex investigations / tradeoff and presenting them in a concise manner.
  • Work with obsolescence and design teams to mitigate obsolete devices through redesign and qualifications of radio sub-assemblies.
  • Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability requirements.
  • Documenting radio and system requirements.
  • Outlining new testing requirements and assets required to support production.
  • Must have the ability to analyze a new product design and be able to communicate technical information as to how and why it works the way it does to support staff.
  • Work as part of the design team to make necessary design changes prior to and during the launch of a new product.
  • Support customers, vendors and mentoring staff.
  • Designing and supporting engineering tests and detailed experiments in support of customer applications. 
  • Mentoring and providing direction to junior staff and/or technicians.
  • Work with outside vendors and quality teams to address material discrepancies and obsolescence.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years’ experience in RF design.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • RF & analog circuit design and troubleshoot experience
  • Ability to design and conduct engineering experiments and evaluate and act upon test results
  • Application of design considerations for volume manufacturing preferred
  • Working knowledge and experience in using RF design simulation tools (ADS)
  • Working knowledge and experience in using SW tools to generate automated tests (LabVIEW)
  • Knowledge of circuit card design tools used to generate circuit card designs (DX Designer)
  • Digital circuitry knowledge a plus
  • Prior manufacturing support experience a plus
