The Regional Radiology MRI Coordinator directs and coordinates daily operations of multiple site-based MRI diagnostic imaging department. You are accountable for ensuring operational standards for quality, service and cost. Independently resolves problems and/or recommends solutions to departmental issues. This position provides MRI expertise and guidance to staff and serves as internal consultant on technical issues, works with the administrators to ensure the successful delivery and continuity of MRI services and takes actions that ensure adequate coverage within local department. The coordinator develops, monitors, oversees and is accountable for department operating and capital budget, ensuring that operations are managed within established guidelines, as well as develops and implements cost saving measures as appropriate. The Coordinator supervises medium to large size group of technical, clerical, and secretarial nonexempt staff (usually around 15-30 staff members). You will provide direction and support to staff to assure departmental effectiveness and efficiency. Responsibilities include coordination of protocols for quality imaging on several different models of scanners, interacting with radiologists to assure safety and equipment is certified, fiscal responsibility of operating budget, recruiting, interviewing, selecting, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; reviewing personnel actions of subordinates and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Must have the ability to independently travel to different sites.
Education: Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (MRI) Must have current MA license.
Skills and Experience: 5 years of experience as an imaging technologist with at least 5 years of supervisory experience in MRI, which will include budgetary planning and accreditation with ACR. Proficiency with Excel & Word and experience working with HIS/RIS products required. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven customer service excellence.
