Job Description: 

 

The Harris LTE Center of Excellence is looking for a project manager to join our new team chartered with helping to connect, inform and protect our customers through the development of cutting edge Applications and use of LTE technologies.  Smartphones have given us unprecedented access to information and transformed the way in which we live our lives. The Harris LTE Center of Excellence will help bring a similar transformation to Law Enforcement and the Military.

  • Analyzes workflow and assigns or schedules work to meet priorities and goals.
  • Oversee, report and coordinate the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects while ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Serves as single point-of-contact between engineering project management and planning, engineering development teams, and product line management.
  • Conducts briefings to Senior Management on project health.
  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring engineering project progress and assesses engineering project issues to develop resolutions that meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
  • May conduct performance/project analyses to benefit future/other engineering projects, missions, and programs. 
  • Meets with development managers, support staff, vendors, and customers to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.  Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated events.  Generate various  reports/deliverables
  • Reports to Manager and/or Director of Engineering.  External contacts involve routine matters to understand, track, drill down, and question activities and issues in all functional areas in order to influence management and resolve conflict.
  • Negotiation, leadership, assertiveness and follow-through skills are key to successful completion of tasks.

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 6+ years of relevant Project Management experience

 

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies
  • Experience in product life cycle management from design to product launch
  • Experience developing plans to achieve technical, cost, and schedule requirements
  • Experience developing plans to achieve technical, cost, and schedule requirements
  • Ability to implement and/or adapt project execution plans and manage resources from multiple      development groups
  • Ability to present to internal and external customers at all levels
  • Develop executable plans that will achieve technical, cost and schedule requirements
  • Experience with management tools, including schedule development management, staff management and EVMS
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Experience developing integrated master schedules (IMS); proficient with Microsoft Project
  • Experience in Public Safety
  • ClearQuest
  • Experience participating in proposal development
