Parsons is seeking a highly-motivated and extremely knowledgeableDatabase Administrator (Oracle) supporting SPAWAR Systems Center, Atlantic. The Database Administrator should be skilled and experienced in Oracle Database Administration to fill a more senior role and will work as a member of a highly motivated team of  professionals to deliver capability to our sponsor's customers.

 

Position requires a minimum of 8 years' experience as a DBA with a proven track record in performance optimization and troubleshooting of Oracle systems in Linux environments. Possess the skills to quickly adapt to any environment during any point of the project lifecycle, and be able to provide efficient response to task deadlines and timely resolution of system complications. Must possess excellent organizational and analytical skills with in depth of knowledge of Oracle databases.

 

Roles and responsibilities include:

 

*       Provide database management and life cycle support for a Navy enterprise information system

*       Implement and troubleshoot Golden Gate for database replication between Navy systems

*       Setup RMAN configuration on Oracle database servers and ensure a standard configuration and build process

*       Implement Data Guard configuration between databases

*       Create build documentation to support the build out in relation to the databases and the deployment of other vendor tools (BMC Focused)

*       Build and STIG database deployments

*       Implement performance monitoring and tuning scripts to thoroughly examine databases, monitor database growth and provide input to overall system capacity plan

*       Implement multi-site disaster recovery and high availability solutions

 

 

 

Qualifications:
 
  • Minimum 8-12 years of related experience. Bachelors degree in related field or CISSP certification preferred.
  • Candidate MUST possess DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technician (IAT) II compliant security certification (such as CISSP, Security+, or GSEC) and certification of completion of Oracle training (OS training cert ) upon Date of Hire
  • Oracle 11g OCA and OCP, Oracle 12c
  • Disaster Recovery, RMAN
  • GoldenGate
  • Security - Auditing
  • Oracle Database Appliance/Oracle RAC
  • Experience with Automated Storage Management (ASM)
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
  • Linux/PERL scripting experience, automation of database deployments and STIG application
  • Experience supporting Oracle in a production environment including setup, configuration, performance tuning, upgrading, patching, backup and recovery at all levels of the software development life cycle
  • Experience implementing upgrades in a zero-downtime production environment
  • Experience with systems and database performance monitoring and alerting tools
  • Experience preparing formal written technical content for the development, implementation, and management of projects
