The Regional Systems Engineering (RSE) group is looking for a candidate to join our team!

 

The RSEs are a group of high-performing engineers with strong leadership, communications skills, an appreciation for Harris’ business goals and a passion for making our customer’s successful. The primary responsibility of an RSE is to provide engineering support to Sales on systems opportunities and large product opportunities that require systems engineering. In addition, the RSE may provide general technical assistance to the sales manager or program manager or help coordinate technical support from other organizations (PLM and Product Engineering).

 

The RSEs support the following regions:

•Asia Pacific

•Central America and Latin America

•Europe

•Middle East

 

Detailed Job Description:

 

The Regional Systems Engineer works closely with both internal and external stakeholders and is responsible for:

Providing technical support in the form of customer requirements gathering, systems solution development, system architecture development, preliminary system design, customer briefings, creation of white papers and technical proposal support Includes HF, VHF, UHF, microwave, data, IP networks and/or custom design peripheral subsystems in both voice and data applications integrated into a variety of platforms (vehicles, ships, aircraft) and systems (C4ISR).Develops White Papers, ROMs, Quick Turn Proposals, and supporting the handoff of larger proposals to the Systems Engineering Team as required

 

Interfacing between the sales manager or program manager and the Rochester engineering, PLM and B&P groups, working closely with these groups to ensure the technical support needs and      schedules of the sales team are met Supports sales led partnering efforts on specific opportunities

◦Works closely with customers and dealers to develop customer intimacy and regional knowledge of tactical systems and product needs

 

Regularly supports customer facing activities including product demonstrations, technical interchanges/discussions, and portfolio capabilities briefings. Travel to Harris and customer locations worldwide is anticipated. Provides Project Engineering for larger, complex customer demonstrations

◦Serves as a voice of the customer, ensuring solutions provided meet customer needs, documents use cases, and provides feedback directly to product team helping to shape and influence product direction

This position requires the demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with internal organizations (Sales, Program Management, and Operations) to complete assigned projects.

Approximately up to 20% short term international travel anticipated.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Successful candidate will possess excellent technical, interpersonal and customer skills, plus demonstrate the capacity to effectively foster teambuilding within and beyond his/her work group.
  • BSEE/BSCE and 6+ years of experience or Master’s Degree with 2-4+ years of work experience in project management of Systems Design and Systems Integration with relevant technology
  • Familiarity with communications technologies and applications (airborne, vehicular, manpack, and handheld)

 

Preferred Additional Skills: 

  • Computer Proficiency – Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, and MS Project.
  • Programming skills preferred.
  • Enjoys working with people, developing relationships and sharing knowledge
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-stakes environment
  • Face-to-Face Customer Experience
  • Familiarity with Wideband Networking (ANW2, M-TNW)
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: Military Tactical Radio Applications and Systems Design (HF, VHF, UHF, Satcom), IP Networking, Wireless Voice and Data Systems, Platform and Vehicular Integration, C4ISR systems design
  • Technical proposal experience to include knowledge and expertise in the following areas:  detailed scheduling, work breakdown structure development, basis of estimate (BOE) development and technical writing.  Proficiency at writing clear and concise reports and presentations tailored to a wide variety of audiences
  • International travel experiences, working with international teams and understanding of cultural sensitivity areas.
