Job Description:

Harris, Electronic Systems is seeking an energetic and self-motivated individual to join our EHS team in the position of EHS Manager.  This position will lead the development and execution of the Electronic Systems environment, safety, and health and sustainability efforts to enhance business performance and support our long-term interests.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Implement and administer the ES EHS management system and implement all major programs affecting employee environment, health and safety (EHS)
  • Direct EHS and Facility staff to develop and implement environmental health and safety control programs
  • Conduct plant surveys, audits, monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of environmental health programs
  • Develop EHS training programs, including the creation of curriculum, and conduct or oversee the conduct of training to employee populations per regulatory requirements and EHS policies
  • Review specifications and plans of new operations, layouts, materials, chemicals, machinery, new construction and demolition to assure appropriate safety and industrial hygiene standards are applied
  • Establish and maintain records and permits required by local, state and federal government regulations relative to the EHS program and prepare periodic updates and metrics for management review
  • Develop and manage metrics for reporting progress and performance
  • Perform standard duties related to managing subordinates
  • Perform related duties or special projects as directed

 Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in an EH&S related field plus 15+ years of related experience or Masters Degree plus 13+ years of related experience
  • OR PhD/JD and 9+ years of related experience
  • 3+ years of EHS management or EHS Team Lead experience

 Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Detail oriented, Understands large organizational impacts as they relate to EHS program rollout, alteration, or initiation.
  • Excels in a fast paced, dynamic environment with an ability to adjust and change direction effectively to ensure success
  • Strong understanding of Federal, Local, and State Occupational Health and Safety regulations and how they are effectively applied in the workplace.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • CSP Preferred and Maitenance of Top Secret Security Clearance

Security Clearance:

This position requires the candidate to already possess, or be able to obtain, an active Top Secret security clearance and to maintain the clearance.
