Job Description:

  • Responsible for leading & executing the development of a custom communications device, driving the development and test to completion
  • Oversees and coordinates the cost/schedule/technical aspects of ongoing engineering projects within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager and/or customer (external/internal).
  • Provides the coordination between resource managers/supervisors and ensures all necessary reviews and approvals are received.
  • Reviews status of engineering projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses engineering project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring engineering project progress and for intervention and problem solving with engineering project managers, line managers, and customers.


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, electrical/computer engineering or similar engineering discipline
  • 8+ years of engineering technical lead experience primarily in development projects
  • Experience leading a multi-disciplined team including both embedded and system software and card design
  • Experience with geographically diverse teams
  • Experience managing projects with annual budgets of $1M+
  • Experience managing development projects, including building and leading the project team
  • Experience developing executable plans to achieve technical, cost, and schedule requirements

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with industry best practices for project engineering, EVMS, and program execution
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills to work with both internal and external resources
  • Strong ability to drive plans to closure
  • Ability to implement and adapt project execution plans and manage resources from multiple development teams
  • Experience with management of design to cost activities
  • Ability to present to internal and external customer at all levels
  • Strong personal leadership, influence, and motivational skills
  • Master’s degree in engineering or management
