We are looking for experienced, well rounded, Construction Engineers to join our team to support a major Rail/Transit project in the DC Metropolitan area.  For this program, Parsons will be providing construction and engineering support for the tasks related to general infrastructure construction, including specific architectural, electrical, mechanical and civil portions of the tasks.   If you are the right one for us, you have a safety and quality focus, are adept at overseeing subcontractors work in the field of construction and already have a few great projects under your belt!  Apply today to join our team and take advantage of this chance to work on some of the iconic projects that Parsons is known for.

 

Responsibilities will include:

 

Review and provide comments on contractor product submittals, shop drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, and as-built drawings.

 

Receive and distribute Contractor's submittals to the clients' review team, follow ups with the reviewers, consolidate comments and prepare transmittals and response back to the client (MTA) under the direction of the Task Manager.

 

Review of plans and specifications for constructability purposes.

 

Maintain conformance with established procedures, processes and logs all construction documents including managing the WMATA review/comment/approval phases.

 

Perform fiscal support to the Task Manager with matters relating to budget, cost forecasting, cost estimating, reimbursement, scheduling and cost reports.

 

Support and assist the Authority's Safety Engineer in the enforcement of safety compliance.

 

Provide technical expertise, as appropriate, to the Task Manager.

 

Complete daily/periodic inspection reports. Document and photographs work progress.

 

Prepare progress reports and recommendations to the Task Manager for project and program management on the status of the assigned project.

 

Evaluate design and construction problems during the construction period, developing alternative courses of action, determining the optimal solutions for recommendation to the Task Manager.

 

Conduct construction meetings on site and provide onsite directions to the contractors.

 

Review contractor's Site Specific Work Plan, coordinate with the client's internal review team, consolidate and communicate the comments, and schedule/coordinate the field work with the client.  

 

Upload information into the clients internal systems and software.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in field construction engineering. 
  • Experience in the construction of large electrical/civil/structural and/or industrial projects is required.  Prefer candidates with experience in Transportation project construction, specifically in Rail/Transit. 
  • General/Comprehensive knowledge of civil/structural engineering and  construction-related processes, as well as industry practices and codes. 
  • Familiarity with Microstation CAD, PDS model, and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering and construction.
  • Ability to perform in a lead capacity on a project.
  • 4-year degree in electrical engineering or construction-related field from an accredited institution or equivalent construction work experience.
