Beauty

National Association of Professional Women, Westlake Village Chapter

Our March meeting is dedicated to Beauty.

“When it comes to beauty some say beauty comes from the inside

and some say from the outside but the truth is that beauty could be

such a precious master piece of both.”

“Beauty is not in the face; beauty is a light in the heart.”

As spring approaches, and the nature is going through a ritual of cleaning and rebirthing, getting rid of the old and renewing with beautiful blossom, it is time to rejuvenate ourselves.

The experience of "beauty" often involves the interpretation of some entity as being in balance and harmony with nature, which may lead to feelings of attraction and emotional well-being. Because this is a subjective experience, it is often said that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

The skin is your largest organ, providing protection against infections and germs, breathing in the environment and what are put on it, and excreting toxins and bodily wastes. Proper skin care is vital to your health and your appearance. Like the rest of your organs, skin must be properly nourished, balanced, and cleansed.

Our speaker for this monthisJulie McLewee, an experienced sale, marketing and training professional who has 25 years knowledge in the skincare, cosmetics and nutritional industries.

Julie was National Training Director for a one billion dollar nutrition and skincare company. She has developed training aids to reinforce sales and marketing campaigns in over 20 countries. Additionally, she has been integral in the design and launch of numerous skincare and health & wellness products. She is currently Kandesn Marketing Manager.

She will talk about how Women who use make-up on a daily basis are absorbing almost 5lbs. of chemicals a year into their bodies. Some synthetic compounds involved in these products have been linked to side effects ranging from skin irritationto premature aging and cancer.
