Hello! My name is Maia Beatty and I'm the Powerful Presence Trainer & Coach.
Although I'm the only one right now, I have no doubt that my membership in NAPW will result in spreading the word about Powerful Presence and the practice of Dancing Into Your Power. I'm committed to the idea that, ten years from now, there will be women all over the world who are certified to do this work with me.
Here's a snapshot of what I do:
Master Trainer: I’ve been training adults since 1982 in the distinctions, structures and strategies that will increase your skill in every facet of interpersonal communication and personal motivation, the "soft skills" that are the foundation of your success. The context of my programs is to increase your personal power, whether you’re speaking in front of any size or type of audience or training adults, working with people who pose challenges for you or expanding your networking and sales skills, managing the stress of any difficult transition or dancing into your power with Powerful Presence. Along the way, I’ve created over 30 original training programs.
Motivational Keynote Speaker: My specialty is showing you HOW to identify and access your personal power and step into your Powerful Presence. Since 1987, I’ve spoken to audiences as large as 1800, across 40 states, Canada, Australia, the UK and the Dominican Republic. My audiences range from professional women’s organizations, business and professional associations, universities, government and private industry, and non-profits. Along the way, I’ve created over 20 original keynotes and breakout sessions.
Co-Active Coach: I’ve been informally coaching as part of my training programs since 1990. Then I graduated from the Coaches Training Institute (CTI) as a co-active coach in March 2005 and completed the year-long Leadership Program in June 2005. My specialty is helping you identify and access your personal power, so you can accomplish things you've only dreamed of doing. My coaching clients include business owners, business leaders, professionals on the fast track who want to reach their next level sooner, new and seasoned business speakers, veterans, those in recovery from substance abuse, government employees and managers, new and seasoned trainers and a variety of service professionals.
Published Author: Since 1995, I’ve shared my strategies for powerful presence in my first four books -- Bootstrap Words: Pull Yourself UP!, Pizza & The Art Of Life Management, The Trainer’s Cookbook and The Traveler's Pocket Guide to Powerful Presence . Each one focuses on a practical and tangible set of skills that you can use in your personal or professional life. They contain distinctions, structures and strategies that show you HOW to access your personal power as well as increase your confidence as a speaker, and your skill as the trainer. My fifth book, Dance Into Your Power: A Woman's Journey To Powerful Presence, will be published by Love Your Life Publishing in Fall 2012. It puts everything I’ve learned about Powerful Presence into a book that takes you --step-by-step-- through the process of discovering and developing your unique Powerful Presence: that inside something you can tap into to create your greatest success despite any odds.
I received my B.A. in Psychology and Communications from Texas A&M University.
I am currently a member of the Council of Smaller Enterprises, The Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce, the International Association of Coaches and Meeting Professionals International. I'm A Distributor with Inscape Publishing, and one of the few certified in administering the Indra Profile, which measures your strengths and challenges in relationships.
My hobbies and interests include gardening with my husband, Chuck, dancing in my kitchen and around my house, seeing every motivational movie ever made (my latest one is "Brave"), reading illuminating and uplifting books and writing poetry and non-fiction. Although I don't own one, I love being around horses and I do it every chance I get.
I am drawn to and passionate about charitable organizations such as the Battered Women Shelter and our local Haven of Rest for the homeless.
I look forward to meeting you!
