During the thirty-five years I worked as a marriage and family therapist my passion was to help individuals, couples, and families create a strong sense of self-worth and positive lifetime relationships.
After my husband, a pediatrician, died I retired from counseling and found myself drawn to medical emergency awareness. Various personal experiences made me realize there was a huge gap in the public's understanding of how to recognize a medical emergency, when to call 9-1-1, and what to do, or not do, until help arrives.
To fill this void, I wrote SAVE YOUR LIFE...WHAT TO DO IN A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, a concise, easy-to-read book, which provides vital information on how to recognize life-threatening symptoms such as heart attack, stroke, insulin shock, and allergic reactions.
Save Your Life… tells how to prevent home accidents, accidental poisoning, and much more. The book has anecdotes that illustrate real-life medical emergencies, and explains how to be prepared before an emergency strikes. It includes an interactive journal for lists of important personal medical information and emergency contacts.
For me, Save Your Life is a tribute to my late husband, who practiced medicine for over fifty years. My hope is this book will continue his work of helping people and saving lives.
