Dr. Jane Timmons-Mitchell received her bachelor’s degree Magna Cum Laude with Honors in Psychology from Wellesley College, and her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Psychology and Clinical Psychology from Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Timmons-Mitchell is Senior Research Associate, Begun Center for Violence Prevention Education and Research, Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, Case Western Reserve University, working on researching and disseminating evidence based practices for children, youth and families. She is Associate Clinical Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and a member of the Adjunct Faculty, Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences.
A child clinical psychologist, Dr. Timmons-Mitchell began her own practice, Junction Psychological Services Corporation, in 2001. She has been associated with child abuse, juvenile justice, and substance abuse in clinical work and research projects over the years. Dr. Timmons-Mitchell has worked extensively on Multisystemic Therapy (MST) projects, as a therapist, supervisor, program director, researcher, and consultant.
Her work on the Safe Schools Healthy Students grant from the U.S. Department of Education earned an Honorable Mention, SAMHSA Administrator’s Award, for expanding availability of evidence-based mental health services. Her clinical effectiveness trial of Multisystemic Therapy (MST), published in June, 2006 in The Journal of Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology was the first independent replication of MST with juvenile offenders in the United States. Beginning in 2009 her biography has been included in Marquis Who’s Who in the United States; in 2010, in Who’s Who in the World, and in 2011, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare.
