In 2001, Mim Collins received her Doctorate in Psychology, specializing in psychoanalysis and the psychodynamics underlying our unconscious behavior patterns. In 2005, Kaiser Permanente was the first medical center to require educational classes as a prerequisite for Bariatric surgery. Dr. Collins was part of the charter staff for that program. Since that time, she has worked with more than 2500 patients seeking resolution to the life-long struggle of weight management and control.
Mim Collins received her M.A. degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1975 from Phillips Graduate Institute (formerly California Family Study Center). She began her work in the area of Women’s Sexuality and related issues. In her professional career, extending over 35 years Dr. Collins has continued to work with individuals, couples and family in her private practice.
