My name is Nada Merrifield and I am the Founder/CEO for NADA (Not Another Domestic Assault). My company's principal products and services include educatin and assistance for domestic violence victims. My expertise is domestic violence, education, counseling and advocacy. I received my Bachelor degree from Westwood College and my area of study was Criminal Justice. My hobbies and special interests are fishing, art, painting, theatre, reading and travel. The charity that I am most passionate and drawn to is AZTEC Rising and various domestic violence shelters.
I do what I do because I am a survivor of domestic violence myself. For almost 4 years I was confined to a bed and wheelchair. The doctors all said I was going to be paralized from the mid section down to my toes and nothing could be done. However I found a doctor willing to try something new and am now able to walk for short periods of time. It has been a long strugle that I had to do alone and now will do everything in my powere to help another victim of domestic violence before they end up like me. Losing a child during this was worse than any physical pain I felt.
I now not only speak on domestic violence and work with the victims, but I have taken a new step to speak with the abusers themself. My goal is to open up new programs and go at domestic violence in a whole new way.
