Michele C. Leavitt, an independent professional artist, shows and sells her works nationally. Her practice includes drawing, painting, print making, and fiber arts. Ms. Leavitt shares her expertise teaching foundation drawing in the Pre-College Program for RISD (the Rhode Island School of Design) and college level drawing I, II, and III at the Community College of RI. She is actively and singlehandedly establishing a scholarship fund for promising art students at CCRI. Additionally Leavitt recently established Art Works Wonders, Unlimited, a small business of which she is president and CEO, providing fine art and art history education for residents of Assisted Living Communities. Leavitt’s awards include a grant from the Rhode Island Foundation in the sum of $15,000.00 to create and present an instillation exhibition at the Newport Art Museum.
