About Beth

Beth endorses a holistic, proactive care model, seeking to equip individuals to manage struggles before they become problematic or destructive. We have little control over the circumstances of our life, only our responses to them. Adopting a positive perspective and bringing life back into balance, facilitates the restoration of wholeness and health, physically, mentally and spiritually. Beth's primary focus is counseling and life coaching for individuals, couples and families in a therapeutic environment. She has a deeply rooted desire to see families provide a stable foundation for their children and for developing supportive structures for people who do not have the benefit of a healthy family system. She is also enthusiastic about new and creative ways to support helping professionals. Since she can understand firsthand the demands, stressors and compassion fatigue facing helping professionals, she has teamed with others to develop and provide specialized services to enhance self-care for this unique population.

Beth is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a certified Life Coach. She received her BA in Social Science and Psychology from Northwestern College in Roseville, MN. She earned her MA in Mental Health Counseling at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. Beth is certified in civil and family mediation from the Washington University School of Law Alternative Dispute Resolution Program in collaboration with the Center for Dispute Resolution at Missouri State University. She is a Nationally Certified Couple Communication instructor through Interpersonal Communication Programs, Inc. She has received training in Collaborative Team Skills, Core Communications for individuals as well as Prepare/Enrich for couples. She has advanced training in stress management through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. Beth graduated from the Christian Leaders, Authors, and Speakers Seminar (CLASS). She has frequently spoken at local business clubs, women’s groups, and faith based organizations. Beth has written numerous articles on life coaching, counseling, and family systems that have been published. She has co-authored a study on the needs of parents with critically, chronically and terminally ill children. Beth has worked in private practice doing individual and group counseling for over twenty years. Her group work has included chronic pain support, stress management, depression, Christian County Drug Court panel, and adult community education. She currently serves on the board of A&M Recovery.

Beth holds professional memberships in American Counseling Association, American Association of Christian Counselors, and the National Association of Professional Women. She volunteers at the Crisis Pregnancy Center, Ozark Women’s Shelter, International Friends Organization at Missouri State University, and faith based ministries for college and career, singles and families. Beth enjoys travel, swimming and scuba diving. She also enjoys reading, movies, and hosting people in her home. Her greatest joy comes from spending quality time with family and friends.
