Marya Regina Butler was born in Troy, North Carolina. I am the youngest of seven children. I’m currently a resident of Albemarle, North Carolina. I earned my Associate degree in Early Childhood Education as well as earned my licensure in Geriatric Nursing Aid (CNA-I), from Montgomery Community College.

My work career began in 1985 as a CNA in a local nursing home. I realized my passion for the helping profession began to blossom. I spent 25 years as a CNA worker therefore; I began mixing my teaching knowledge and methods with developing skills in the human service field. In 2008, I enrolled in the Human Service Field at Stanly Community College. I was voted as the president of the Human Service Club for one year, network as one of the school representative for two years and elected as the student of the year in the Human Service Program for two years. In April of 2009, I was inducted into the Honorary Society of Phi Theta Kappa. My inspiration and compassion motivated me to do more in the community to help change lives.

Through my involvement in the community, I volunteered at the Stanly Community Inn (Homeless Shelter) for a year and currently assisting to bring hope to others. Through my perseverance, I opened up C-ing is Believing Foundation, LLC. The foundation is a community based service that networks and links others within Stanly County and surrounding counties. My outreach services shall empower and build others to improve their lives one step at a time.
