After receiving my BA in English and Social studies from U.C. Berkeley in the fractious 60's, I taught in a Stanford University-based experimental high school. During twenty years of teaching ages 6-60, I enjoyed seven years of teaching and mentoring "at risk" youth--gangsters, drug addicts, etc. Curriculum writing, department headship, culturally relevant textbook writing for the Navajo and sixty-four additional units beyond my BA were focused on diagnostic-prescriptive teaching with practical applications.
I raised two gifted sons as a single parent. Teaching burnout was cured with property management . Then I was disabled by Lyme disease while teaching again in Alaska. During those ten years of down time I wrote my book, Stress-free Discipline for families and teachers.
My Master's Degree in Adult Education was earned via the University of Phoenix. Recently married, I am embarking on my third career as life skills coach for families and teachers. My husband just finished seminary and is working with prisoners and those who are sick and shut-in. There is life and love after 69!
