About Gerly Sapphire

I currently work at the United States Department of Health and Human Services under the Health Resources and Services Administration. I am enrolled at Walden University in the PhD program in General Psychology. My specialization is in the Educational Psychology Academic field. One of the reasons that I chose psychology and more specifically Educational Psychology within the academic field is to help bring about change within the Culture of People with Disabilities. Change usually requires action and I believe as a psychologist specializing in Educational Psychology will best position me for an active role in the advancement of the Culture of People with Disabilities. My professional goal is to teach at the college level and establish educational workshops designed to enlighten the general public and help integrate the disability culture. It is my desire to educate, empower, encourage, and heighten awareness which will lead to a better understanding of the disability culture.
