Hi! I'm Lisa Cushing and I am the Owner and Lead Designer for Petals by Design. We specialize in providing beautiful flowers designed for weddings, receptions, and special events all over the Houston area.

I received my Bachelors degree from University of Houston in Graphic Communications Technology (Printing and Publishing) in 2001. In 2000, my prior interest of working with flowers was rekindled through providing wedding & reception flowers for friends during 2000-2003. Petals by Design was born in 2003, and in 2007 became my sole career focus and passion. It's been amazing, and I've never regretted it!

Together with my husband, we are life members of the University of Houston Alumni Association, and work with the UH Spirit of Houston Band Alumni Organization. We give back to the university with both our personal time and through business efforts as well, assisting with floral design for various UH events and functions. We also serve on the Band Alumni board for student scholarship fundraising. Spending time with my amazing husband, family and friends fills any remainging "down time".

Without God in my life, my incredibly supportive husband by my side, and a circle of loving family and friends, I truly wouldn't be the woman and business owner I am today. Running a business gets crazy, and it's a challenge at times to keep those things in their proper order of priority, but I am truly and undoubtedly blessed!
