Carolyn DeVore is the Founder/Artistic Director of the DeVore Dance Center, located in St. Alban's, NY (Queens). Almost 20 years ago, she had a vision to reach young people through the art of dance. Carolyn DeVore holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Modern Dance and Secondary Education from Brooklyn College and a Masters Degree in Special Education from Adelphi University. She attended the Bernice Johnson Cultural Arts Center, where she studied with distinguished dancers and choreographers – Micheal Peters, Ben Vereen, Arthur Mitchell, and Bernice Johnson herself.
Through its 20 years, DeVore Dance Center has attracted thousands of dancers from throughout New York. Students have enjoyed the opportunity to learn directly from Carolyn DeVore and to experience dance on a higher level. Carolyn has received many awards including: Queens Borough Presidents Special Recognition Award-2008; US Congressional Award-2001; Who's Who of American High School Teachers – numerous occasions. The Devore Dance Center host a variety of programs including dance, modeling, drums, chorus, character development, nutrition and fitness.
