Charlene Overcash , President and CEO of Pet Home Health Agency, LLC has a history of 23 years in the medical profession including a degree in Physical Therapy and Nursing, with 8 years dedicated to the home health field. Thus, allowing Pet Home Health Agency to mimic a visiting nurse service. Charlene’s home health expertise and knowledge of the business along with her intense passion for pets (20 yrs owned and managed a locally well know horse farm in NC) led her to create this unique service, which is similar to a visiting nurse service and provides Veterinarians an opportunity to fill in the gap between clinic visits and what happens after the pet gets home. A large percentage of pets are relinquished pre-maturely and Charlene’s goal is eventually to change this percentage by giving pet owners an opportunity to opt for surgeries, care for chronically ill pets that otherwise would not have a chance, improve the quality of life of the pet and reduce the burden on pet owners. Focusing on the same interests Veterinarians have in providing continuity of care will increase the longevity of pets and decreasing pre- relinquishments.
Charlene has several write ups about the enterprise in DVM 360 Magazine, and Veterinary Practice News, and is in the beginning stages of writing a book about home health for pets.
Charlene has one dog and one cat that she adores. She is pet CPR certified, certified in emergency animal sheltering by the Center for Public Health Preparedness, is a member of the Humane Society and the ASPCA .
