About Louise

My name is Louise Nicholson and my special fields are INDIA and ARTS JOURNALISM. A trained art historian, I have worked campaigning for the preservation of buildings, as a specialist in Indian and Islamic art at Christie's the auctioneers, and as an arts journalist on The Times (London).

Today, working freelance, I bring all that experience to bear on my work as consultant for people visiting India. I am passionate about my work, and want to share my belief that India is an endlessly fascinating culture with amazing people.

Having studied India for 35 years, visited India more than 200 times, and been taking people there for 26 years, I can offer reliable advice and all my personal experience. My clients may require tailor-made leisure and/ business trips (or a mixture of both), a general introduction to India, or very specialist itineraries such as for fashion designers, film-makers, investors, disaster managers, cooks and even perfume designers!

No trip is too small (a two-day trip for a busy businesswoman) - or too big (a party of 40 is not problem). I can either do just the management before the trip, or go with my clients. I help business people meet like-minded business colleagues, but I also dream up amazing holidays and honeymoons!

I also have a website, www.louisesindia.com where people can sign up for my private mailing list to receive newsletter and information about my private tours.

Meanwhile, I maintain my pure arts training, writing regularly for Apollo, Country Life and Fine Art Connoisseur, for whom I interview great collectors and arts leaders, and review new museums.

Back in 1985 I founded a not-for-profit in the UK; now I have also founded Save a Child America Inc, which achieved 501c3 tax status in December 2010. Now we can proceed to develop and expand; all offers of help welcome!
