My name is Erin Bush. I reside in Lafayette, Colorado. Currently, I am a Sales Support Representative for the DAP Team for Comstor, an added value distributor of Cisco technologies. Comstor was voted 2011 Cisco Global Distribution Partner of the Year. My position provides me a unique opportunity to use a variety of skill sets that I have acquired through education and past job experiences. Some of these skill sets include attention to detail, ability to problem solve, customer service, and an eye for process improvement as well as working under pressure with a high paced sales team. This role would be a great challenge for anyone interested in a career in business. Comstor is a customer facing sales organization which gives a great opportunity to understand how diplomacy and working through a customer’s needs is the cornerstone to a successful business. Another aspect of this position requires interfacing with other departments throughout the entire sales process; very similar to running one’s own business!
I have been golfing for over 26 years. In college, I received a golf scholarship to Rockhurst University from which I graduated in 2005 with a BSBA degree with an emphasis in Business Administration. While attending Rockhurst, I was on the golf team and lettered all four years. For all four years, I was the President of P.E.E.R.S (Positively Educating Each Rockhurst Student), an organization that focused on exactly what it stands for. My role as President was to recruit new members, maintain current members while motivating and educating students to be positive during their college experience. It truly was a wonderful experience that enabled me to develop my management and coaching skills. I made the Dean's List twice and also held several jobs during my years at Rockhurst.
After graduating from Rockhurst in 2005, I took a year off to work before returning to school. In 2006 I began attending Avila University where I earned my MBA with an emphasis in Business Management in December 2007. While earning my masters degree, I went to Oregon in 2007 between trimesters and worked at Sunriver Golf Resort as a Golf Professional Assistant. Golf is definitely one of my passions and it was in Oregon where I really learned what I am capable of as a young professional.
I moved to Colorado in 2008 to work with the Colorado Section PGA, managing the Sections PGA Professionals. At that time, I began living a healthier lifestyle through good nutrition and regularly working out. After learning the fundamentals of what constitutes a true workout and how to eat to provide my body with the needed nutrients, I became interested in figure competitions. A year later, I entered my first two figure competitions. In both competitions I entered two classes and placed in both shows and classes. I also competed this past June in the Mile High Championships and placed higher in the two classes in which I competed. I am currently preparing for the same show next year in hopes of qualifying for Nationals. The satisfaction I get from the competitions is not the trophies that I bring home, but rather the realization of the focus, self determination and discipline I develop through the process of training for the competitions. I find it very rewarding that through all the early workouts, cardio sessions and clean eating as well as the sweat and tears, I am able to be fully committed to myself. That brings much more satisfaction to me than any acknowledgments received from standing on stage.
I have earned my ISSA Certification in Personal Training. Using that certificate enables me to work as a trainer and motive my clients to have a healthy lifestyle and making good fitness and nutrition choices.
In the next few months I intend to start volunteering at elementary schools this year in hopes of motivating children to be the best they can be, to promote healthy choices, and to develop friendships rather than the opposite (bad choices and teasing/bullying).
My passion has and will continue to be to help others become the best that they can be. As I move forward in life, I will be using more and more of my time to motivate, educate and coach individuals of all ages to make the best choices and learn how to implement those choices whether they be physical fitness, nutrition, or behavioral.
