I joined the Chicago Chapter in 2010 and I've already met so many amazing women. I was part of the Leadership Committee under our first Chapter President and learned from the best. As of October 2011, I accepted the extraordinary opportunity become the new Chicago Chapter President.
I'm currently the top sales representative for the family business... a manufacturer of color & additives for plastic. It's a very niche market but I find opportunities everywhere. I represent Accurate Color & Compounding - a manufacturer of custom color for plastic, as well as iD Additives - providing a variety of additives for plastic.
For the past 3 years I've been very involved with Mercy Home for Boys & Girls in Chicago... a truly wonderful organization. I sense they are genuine in their mission and they don't take the volunteers or donations for granted. I began their Friends First mentoring program in 2010 and the experience has been rewarding in so many ways.
I recently joined the Development Committee for the Academy for Global Citizenship. AGC is a Chicago Public Charter School located on the Southwest side of Chicago with a mission to provide a top-of-the-line education while empowering students to have a positive impact on their community and the world around them. We are in the process of finding a location to build a LEED certified school.
A few of my passions are traveling (2012... Italy here I come!), Bulls/White Sox games, spending time with my 5yr old nephew and helping people (whether it's for charity or connecting 2 people who can help each other).
Part of the reason I love NAPW is the network of like-minded women who are all out there to help each other be successful.
