Announcing the 25 winners of the Chadwick's "NAPW 25 Women to Watch" contest!

25 NAPW members were named the "NAPW 25 Women to Watch." Chadwicks, the fashion apparel source for professional women, awarded each winner a $100 gift card to help style their professional wardrobe! 5 winners were featured in our monthly newsletter from September 2009- January 2010.

The "NAPW 25 Women to Watch" are:

	Mary Ellen Tidwell Auburndale Citizens Police Academy Alumni Assn, Inc. Mary Ellen had a very difficult childhood, losing both parents at an early age. She then dedicated her life to mentoring young ladies. In 1975, Mary Ellen became a Counselor at Florida Girls State, a government study program for young ladies who have completed their junior year in high school. The 2009 session was her 35th consecutive year working with this program, which she now serves as the Senior Government Advisor. She teaches four classes of Parliamentary Law/Procedure to 75 young ladies per class. Not only does Mary mentor these girls, but she also makes anonymous donations to help with schooling and encourages them in education and dress. In 35 years, approximately 10,200 girls have been touched by Mary Ellen Tidwell’s presence and that is something this organization of professional women must celebrate!
	Toby Nathan Recruit a Star, LLC Toby is the Co-founder and Principal of RecruitaStar, LLC – a Chicago-based business partner that helps companies with the initial portion of the hiring process. With an incredible wealth of knowledge on job finding and hiring, Toby stood out with her leadership in the industry as a seasoned talent acquisition consultant and entrepreneur. Toby speaks on many topics critical to the job market, such as how to network with a purpose, how to create a personal brand, and job search strategies in a tough economy. The search for a great job and for a star employee are both very topical matters, which is why Toby Nathan is a woman worth watching!
	Karen Nelson Transesse Coaching Karen coined the word “Transesse,” a verb indicating the process of elevating the self beyond a prior state of being. This embodies Karen’s new career as a Certified Master Hypnotist. Karen’s company Transesse Coaching helps people live a life of freedom, joy and purpose. Karen has been working in the human services field for 28 years. She has a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA and an MA from the California School of Professional Psychology. Karen ran a residential treatment program for mentally ill adults. In her free time, Karen enjoys painting, and runs a website of her art with her sister Kris Malanowski, an accomplished artist in her own right. Within Transesse Coaching’s mission statement is the quote “when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” These are inspiring words to follow and Karen is an inspiring woman to watch.
	Deb Gorham Virtual Reality Deb’s story is inspiring to all women who find themselves in a position to recreate their career in order to support their family. As a stay at home mom with two young children, Deb was hit with the news that her husband had cancer. She had to find a way to generate income while maintaining the flexibility she needed to take care of her kids, husband, and father. Her 20 years of experience in television did not provide that opportunity. While brainstorming a business that would allow her to use her time wisely, Deb realized exactly what so many women need – an assistant to help make life easier. In response, she founded Virtual Reality, a company that offers a wide range of services to help professionals take care of time-consuming details. Deb was told she could never start a business without capital, but against the odds, she did it! This is truly a woman – and business – to watch!
	Jan House LTW Advocates in Action, Inc./Groomed for Greatness Jan was recently honored as a community hero by Susan Taylor (former editor in chief of Essence magazine) and awarded $2000 to the nonprofit organization of her choice.  She also received the City of Norfolk School Board Commendation of Distinction Award. She founded the LTW Advocates in Action Mentoring group and is the Marketing-Public Relations Coordinator on the Hampton Roads Care Circle Mentoring Program. Jan also serves as Program Coordinator for a program she developed to inspire, empower and encourage youth from dysfunctional families and at-risk neighborhoods to excel in academics and cultural awareness.  NAPW is thrilled to announce that this woman with such integrity, heart and commitment is the President of the newly formed Tidewater Area NAPW local chapter.
	Marilyn Bruno Bruno Consulting, Inc Marilyn Bruno's resume is quite amazing. A former teacher, turned attorney, turned stock/commodities broker, turned life coach and mentor. When Marilyn was forced to retire due to a serious visual impairment and a diagnosis of lymphoma, she started the website Gynosapiens to help guide Baby Boomers and seniors through retirement and other life-events. Marilyn has given seminars on retirement to State Department employees, and she often volunteers, giving free lectures on important financial matters. While mentoring has been rewarding, Marilyn realizes it isn't paying the bills. She recently became a distributor of Nu Skin products, which she says thanks to the antioxidant-rich ingredients, her lymphoma is now in remission! Marilyn is a go-getter and surely a woman to watch!
	Sharon Dowell Center of the Earth Gallery Sharon Dowell is not only an art gallery director, but she is also a professional artist with quite an impressive artistic resume. Sharon recently participated in an auction at Christies New York and painted commissions for the Ritz Carlton Luxury Hotel-Charlotte, Renaissance Hotel-DC, and Duke Energy. An Arts and Science Council grant recipient; Sharon installed a public mural for the city of Charlotte. With an incredible eye for design, Sharon also enjoys art consulting for corporate and residential clients. 	Lisa Blake Maine Mindfulness Project Lisa V. Blake is the founder of the Maine Mindfulness Project. As a meditation practitioner, Lisa teaches many people techniques to help enhance their lives, quiet their minds, and reinforce positive behavior change. Meditation has been proven in studies to bring many health benefits to people who practice it even for as little as five minutes a day. Lisa has helped people learn meditation for relief of issues related to insomnia, menopause, grief, and clear decision making, among other health concerns. Lisa's professional success is directly related to the well being of others and as the practice of mediation gains popularity in western medicine, Lisa is truly a woman to watch!
	Allison Yates Orlando Wedding Team Allison Yates is only 27 years old and owns a successful wedding planning company called Orlando Wedding Team. She was nominated as a Woman to Watch by an employee who says, “Allison works for less than she should so that she can give more of the profits back to the company and her employees, even though she puts in hundreds of hours on each and every wedding no matter what their budget.” Allison also finds time to participate in charity functions such as collecting basic supplies for our troops overseas. She is truly a woman a watch!
	Jennifer Flood Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America To say it simply, Jennifer Flood saves lives! Jennifer and her sisters created the Flood Sisters Kidney Foundation of America, an online donor-matching program. Upon learning that their father needed a kidney transplant, the Flood sisters knew that waiting for a match through the National Donor List might not suffice, so they decided to find him a donor themselves. Not only did they find their father a kidney donor, but their website helped two other people obtain kidney transplants from live altruistic donors. Jennifer's story is truly remarkable. We are honored to announce her as an NAPW Woman to Watch.
	Tonya Harris CEO & President Dymanic Visions Tonya exemplifies leadership by running a company that helps other company's survive and grow in this down economy. Dynamic Visions works with small businesses and faith-based organizations to build member-centric strategies, leadership development and helping to implement performance and measurements for revenue growth within their organizations. Tonya's says next year her company will be focused on helping churches in this tough economic environment. NAPW is always inspired by women, like Tonya, who show incredible passion to help others strive!
	Gale Neiderworder NLP Practitioner Clinical Hypnotherapist Gail helps other people reach their potential! As a hypnotherapist, Gail specializes in transforming individuals limiting beliefs so that they can become the person they want to be. After 22 years in airline industry, Gail found her new career path by means of self-discovery. Gail became a certified clinical hypnotherapist and a Nero-Linguistic Programming Practitioner and is now living her dream to make a difference in individual's lives. Gail was Selected Mrs. Metropolitan 2009 and will compete for the title of Mrs. Colorado in May 2010. We are honored that Gail is also the NAPW Denver Colorado Chapter President! 	Shan Canfield “Mama Shan” AKA Photoshop Mama Mama Shan exemplifies excellence in her profession. She is the Photoshop source and also known as the Photoshop Mama. Mama Shan just won a national photo contest (with more than 5,000 entrants). Her winning photo of her 29-year old daughter, and business partner will grace the cover of Professional Photographer Magazine this month. Mama Shan and her daughter run MSDIG Photography and Mama Shan's Digital Imaging Goodies, LLC. Mama Shan says, "This coup is a 10-year dream come true"! We at NAPW are inspired by her career and her determination to see a dream come true!
	Colleen Bershad Realtor Re Max Executive Realty/Volunteer When Colleen's daughter asked her what she wanted to do for her 60th birthday she told her to forget spas, she only wanted to go to Rwanda and help to make a difference. There are nearly 3 million orphans in Rwanda. In April, Colleen and her daughter are volunteering at a Rwandan youth village. The village is trying to be self-sustaining; the children are learning to grow their food to eat and to sell. Colleen is on a mission to find a tractor to help the village become self-sufficient. 	Doreen Washington Author & Executive Director, The FACE Foundation Doreen Washington embodies women pride! She is the author of We are Women, and her second book Trapped, will be out early 2010. Doreen also writes a weekly article called We Are Woman for V Magazine. Doreen is the Founder & Executive Director of The FACE Foundation; a non-profit organization that provides help to single working mothers and assistance with paying some of their household bills. Doreen says "I do not believe that we give ourselves enough praise and I have decided that I will do it for those who do not see their strength or worth." 	Monica Niwa-Greene Owner, Ashley Petite Monica is a professional photographer who recently decided to make her grandmother's dreams to produce beautiful baby products come true. Monica launched Ashley Petite, which sells everything from her grandmother's precious handmade sweaters to unique stroller and car seat covers. Ashley Petite is quickly becoming a cult favorite all over the mom-blogosphere! The items are flying off the (cyber) shelf! Monica is truly a woman to watch!
	Tina LoCicero President, Chocolate Bliss, Inc. For 18 years Tina has successfully run a commercial embroidery business. But is now following her dream to share her mother's homemade chocolate sauce recipe with the world. She has recently launched her company Chocolate Bliss Inc. Fellow NAPW Atlanta chapter member says "One day, when you are in a specialty food store, you will see Chocolate Bliss Sauce on the shelf and you will remember when she was just getting started." We are inspired byTina's passion to follow her (delicious) dream.
	April Femrite Owner, Naturally Bamboo April is the CEO of Naturally Bamboo ethical clothing, which manufactures organic clothing made from bamboo fiber. 	Sharon Darrow Owner, Travel ID Cards Sharon single-handedly launched the first NAPW local chapter in Sacramento, California. Her meetings now boast more than 55 members and have created many wonderful professional and personal relationships. By day, Sharon is the owner of Travel ID Cards, which produces photo ID cards for children, impaired adults, and pets. Darrow is involved with many autism related activities and animal rescue. Sharon Darrow inspires us, not only for her ability to make things happen, but also for her good-natured heart.
	Tiffany Jewell Ellis Owner, Reel Media Productions HD Tiffany's mantra is "When life hands you lemons, I say make frozen lemonade." Only 8 months after being laid off from her job, Tiffany is now the owner and operator of a successful video production company: Reel Media Productions HD. And through an unfortunate experience losing her little brother, Tiffany is now launching Reel Healing, which will be a non-profit dedicated to providing tribute video's for those who have lost a loved one. We were very moved by Tiffany's perseverance, and positivity.
	Janel Barlongo Martial Artist Janel is a managing director at a financial investment company with a passion for martial arts. Janel often assists with the Women’s Self Defense Program to help women understand the importance of self-reliance and empowerment.
	Barbara T Freilich VP Financial Services Barbara first entered the Financial Services business over 20 years ago and has continuously been helping to create wealth and financial security for her clients.
