Sharon Landers My name is Sharon Landers and I am a registered nurse at the State Correctional Institute in Waymart, Pennsylvania. I am recently a new NAPW member. I am a Breast Cancer Survivor and on June 2016, I started an online retail store, for women cancer survivors. The name of the website is, "Sharon's Inspirations LLC." Specializing in retailing of post mastectomy clothing for breast cancer women, swimwear, recovery care, accessories, and inspirational pieces from Precious Moments and Jim Shore, (Angels, Figurines, Gifts, and Collectibles.) Items are still being added to the website, by the end of August 2016, all of the products and items will be posted. In 1998, I was diagnosed with a rare breast cancer, during this difficult time I went through body changes and life challenges. Determined to fight, I underwent surgery, received treatments, and prayed every day for a successful recovery. I found it vey hard to find clothing that was comfortable and confident apparel suitable for breast cancer survivors. There were inspirational pieces that I had received from family and friends, that would help put the biggest smile on my face. It was during this experience that I realized I wanted to do more with my life. In August 1999, I entered nursing school at Penn State University's Worthington Campus for Nursing. With help, support and encouragement from loving family and friends, I was able to meet the challenges ahead of me with confidence and fortitude. Inspiration, determination, support, strength, confidence, caring, understanding and beauty are all words that define being a nurse. I love being a nurse, reaching out to people and being able to put smiles on their faces and hope in their hearts. My passion is to help every woman and make it easier for women to feel beautiful, confidant, strong and happy. Sharon's Inspirations provides you the opportunity to show just how beautiful you are inside and out. The website has a place for women to reach out and write messages, if anyone needs the support from someone who understands.
