I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new members who have recently joined the Centennial Chapter.


Next NAPW meeting - July 23, 2014

  • We will plan on finalizing our Service Adventure with Colorado Young Leaders which is scheduled for July 25, 2014:

NAPW Service Adventure July 25, 2014 - Be sure to save the date!
 
The Colorado Young Leaders has invited the Centennial NAPW group to sponsor a Service Adventure day for their organization. We would like to invite you to participate by investing one day of your time to support and give back to our community.    We will be working with the Colfax Community Network, meet some of the high school student who has devoted 200+ hours over the course of the school year and summer mentoring, tutoring and helping the kids at CCN.    We plan to dedicate our July 23, 2014 NAPW meeting from 7:30-9:00 a.m. to finalize the plans.   The Centennial NAPW group will supply T-shirts for the event to all who plan on participating .   

We will need to know your T-shirt size no later than July 10, 2014. Be sure to RSVP me at

are so excited to share this opportunity with you and hope you will find this day both rewarding and adventuresome.   Colorado Young Leaders is asking for  $25.00. donations.
I have attached a draft of the agenda below and look forward to hearing from you.

Schedule:
July 23rd:  Normal NAPW meeting, everyone pays the suggested donation of $25 and gets their t-shirt.
July 25th:
Meet at CCN by 9 a.m.  The address is 1585 Kingston St. Aurora 80111.
9-9:30 a.m.: Tour of CCN's facilities & hear from CCN's staff
9:30-9:40 a.m.: Overview of Expectations
9:40 a.m.: Split Group into Group 1 & 2 carpools & head to Service Sites to serve lunch to the community.  Because of health codes, CCN will provide the food.  Volunteers should pack their own lunch to eat on their own timeframe.  All volunteers go to park at 1800 Billing St.
 
10-11:30 p.m.: Serve Lunch to the community.
10:40 a.m.: Group 1 leaves to go to park at 1646 Alton St.: 
11-1 p.m.: Group 1 Serves Lunch After serving lunch, getting to know the community, and cleaning up, this group will head back to CCN.
11:30 a.m.: Group 2 heads to Spencer Garrett Park at Joliet & 17th.
11:45-1:15 p.m. Group 2 serves lunch at Park.
1:30 p.m.: Meet at CCN for water & to cool off, and debrief the lunches.
2-4 p.m.: Motel Outreach with CCN (2 groups)
4 p.m.: Head to Tavern DTC for Happy Hour
Volunteers need to pack a lunch, wear closed toe shoes, dress for heat, and bring plenty of water.
